Very specific prayer request

My general prayer philosophy is “thy will be done” and I usually don’t try to micromanage God’s gifts to our family.  Today is different.

I have not yet started my new chemotherapy because of insurance issues.  They haven’t approved it, despite the best efforts of so many parts of my team of specialists – the oncologist, the pulmonologist, the rheumatologist… it’s been postponed and postponed… I’m on the schedule for my 5 hour infusion for Thursday at the moment, but it will have to be postponed if it’s not approved.

You all know how much we need to get going with this, and you all know all the other things we have on our plate.  Our plate runneth over, for sure.   But I absolutely believe in the power of prayer… and “gathered in my name” should be able to be virtually as well as physically, don’t you think?  And I absolutely believe that God listens preferentially to the prayers of children…. so can you get your little guys working on it, too?

So here’s the intention:  That the insurance company approves the new chemo plan NOW and we can go ahead and start it Thursday.

I’m also praying for Dixon, that his first day of his new job goes well tonight, and for George and his surgeons, in anticipation of Monday, and for Sam, that he’s not too homesick, and for Danny, that he’s safe and uncomplicated in school-school today with a substitute nurse.

But if you would just pray that the new chemo gets approved, that would be great.  I’ll let you know just as soon as I hear any results from our efforts.  Thanks.

  1. A friend of mine just passed this prayer request on to me. We are going to the Shrine of the Most Blessed Sacrament today and I will light a candle for you. God bless,
    Kristen in TN

  2. Your request has been fulfilled for all of the above and more. It will be repeated as I don’t believe there is such a thing as too many prayers.

  3. Count me in, Elizabeth. I pray for you every day, but I will step it up and include all the current issues and concerns. Also sending warm hugs and much love your way, even though we’ve never met in person.

  4. More prayers are on their way for you, Elizabeth. I pray that it’s time to get rid of your “overflowing plate” and replace it, front and center, with a “small sweet plate” of your favorite desserts. May God bless you and your family and surround you with his love and peace.

  5. Oh you dear lady!!!
My family and I will pray for you and yours every day throughout Advent!
Then He said to me, “Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel. Behold, they say, ‘Our bones are dried up, our hope is lost, we are indeed cut off’. Therefore, prophesy, and say to the, “Thus says the Lord God: BEHOLD, I WILL OPEN YOUR GRAVES AND RAISE YOU FROM YOUR GRAVES, OH MY PEOPLE. AND I WILL BRING YOU INTO THE LAND OF ISRAEL. AND YOU SHALL KNOW THAT I AM THE LORD WHEN I OPEN YOUR GRAVES, AND RAISE YOU FROM YOUR GRAVES, OH MY PEOPLE. AND I WILL PUT MY SPIRIT WITHIN YOU, AND YOU SHALL LIVE, AND I WILL PLACE YOU IN YOUR OWN LAND. THEN YOU SHALL KNOW THAT I AM THE LORD; I HAVE SPOKEN, AND I WILL DO IT, DECLARES THE LORD.”
